THE SYLVAN
By Bobbi Sinha-Morey

At the Hale-Bopp curio shop
where black holes suck you in
for dimes, quarters, half
dollars per pop
you'll find paupers' souls
in decanters,
Chinese ki-lin
purifying the musty air,
summer snow in a bottle,
and elixirs from alicorns.
For a pair of sneakers
on a skid mark high
you get an onyx eye.
